You can schedule an email that you have created to be sent automatically at a later time. It is easy to do.
In Friendly Automate, click on "Channels" on the left and then "Emails". Create a new email or select an email that you want to schedule to be sent.
- Segment emails, which are sent directly to specific subsets of your contacts.
- Template emails that are sent later through campaigns or forms, for example.
Scheduling the sending is most useful for segment emails, because the sending of template emails is triggered by particular events anyway.
You can recognize segment emails by the small red segment icon next to the email name:
You can't convert an existing template email directly into a segment email, but you can duplicate it and then set it up again as a segment email. To do this, click on the small arrow to the left of the email name and select "Clone".
Now you can set up the email as a segment email.
If you have selected an existing email, click on "Edit" in the upper right corner.
Now you will see two fields further down on the right where you can enter a publication date and an end date.
In the "Publish at" field, enter the date and time from which the email should be sent. Then enter the publication end date in the "Unpublish at" field. Also make sure that the "Published" switch is set to "Yes".
The email will not be sent once on the set date, but it will be sent from that date to all contacts that are part of the segment or will become part of it in the future.
For example, if you send a monthly newsletter to your newsletter segment, then from the publication date all contacts will receive this newsletter, even if they become part of the newsletter segment months later.
Therefore, think about how long the email will be relevant and set an expiration date.
Save and close your email. The email will be sent automatically from the publication date you specified. You do not need to click the "Send" button.
You can recognize emails that are prepared for later sending by the orange clock symbol to the left of the email. You can also see how many emails are pending in the gray field on the right. (For our example we used a test segment with only one contact).
As soon as the release date arrives, your emails will be sent automatically. Instead of the clock icon, you will now see the green button icon. On the right in the yellow field you can see how many emails have already been sent. You can also see how many emails have been read. Click on the colored fields to see a detailed analysis.
With this you know everything to successfully schedule the sending of your emails!
